Information about abstracts
Nordic Physiotherapy Congress welcomes clinicians, researchers, professional developers and educators to present research and case reports and other projects from all areas of physiotherapy. The Congress` scientific committee wishes to invite abstract submissions for platform and poster presentations from September 1, 2008 until January 15, 2009.
The theme of the congress is Movement – towards better health. The congress agenda is structured around three core themes:
1. Movement – new perspectives to an old paradigm
The objectives of this session are:
- To summarize state of the art and discuss conceptual new approaches to the movement paradigm.
- To present examples of implementing or evaluating strategies of movement, activity and exercise.
2. Movement - as a physiotherapy intervention
The objectives of this session are:
- To present movement as a tool for intervention. New approaches in treatment.
- To present scientific basis and new methodology for physiotherapy interventions.
3. Movement – professional and ethical issues
The objectives of this session are:
- To discuss individual, social and cultural dimensions of movement in physiotherapy
- To present studies related to aspects of movement in physiotherapy education, practice and research
We welcome abstract submissions from all physiotherapy fields relevant to these themes.
Abstracts are requested for the following categories
Research reports are presentations of original scientific data collected by the authors. Any established research approach, research design and method will be welcomed.
Case reports are presentations of reflections from clinical practice that may lead to further research.
Special interest reports include presentations of new or unique programmes or theories to meet the needs of physiotherapy practice, management, education or policy.
Presentation format
Presentations of research reports, case reports and special interest report may be made in one of the following formats:
Platform Presentation is a 20 minutes oral presentation of a paper to a seated audience.
Poster Presentation summarising information using brief written statements and graphic materials, such as graphs, charts, figures and photographs mounted on a poster board, the dimensions of which must not exceed the allocated space per poster of 70 cm (width) x 100 cm (height). Presenters will be assigned a specific time when they will be at their poster for discussion with delegates.
